The Katy Sip N Stroll presented by Kroger, took place on September 20th at the beautiful Villagio Town Center in Katy, Texas. The event featured over 125 wine selections, a craft beer garden, gourmet bites, and live music. The Katy Sip N Stroll is one of Cinco Charities major fundraising events to help support the operating costs of The Ballard House. The Ballard House provides housing and support to families who are in town for long term treatment of life-threatening illnesses.
Wine lovers had plenty to choose from at the event. There were over 20 wine booths serving just about every varietal imaginable. I was pleasantly surprised by Cupcake Vineyards Black Forest Decadent Red. Very easy to drink and nicely priced. I am a huge wine drinker, but I really enjoyed the Beer Garden. I started off with Rocket Fuel, an amazing Vietnamese Coffee Porter from 8th Wonder Brewery.
Sipping and strolling inside the Beer Garden area, I happened to run into one of my favorite ciders, Leprechaun Golden Cider. Next up was the Karbach tent, where I got to sample the seasonal flavor, Krunkin' Pumpkin.
There was an abundance of bites to nosh on while strolling around the town center. My favorite bites of the evening included the pork belly from Dish Society and the Key Lime, Wonkaberry, and Muddy Bottom Pecan pie samples from Proud Pie. I was definitely stuffed by the end of the evening!
